Enhancing people's lives at  work and at home

Providing employment to about 400 people, SZCC strives to enhance the lives of its workers, both within their working and family lives. Apart from the 20 Chinese experts working on the plant, some Zimbabwean engineers have received specialized training in China.

Staff enjoys many benefits including medical aid, study leave, free transport and subsidized meals.

Improving  people's  skills

SZCC recognizes the values of its people and the central role they play in providing sustainable production. The company aims to enhance its worker's skills, by providing an atmosphere conducive to training and self-employment. A training scheme for university graduates is undertaken in the finance and marketing departments. In addition, the company runs apprenticeship training in all engineering disciplines.

Ensuring safety and health

The company tackles health and safety issues from many angles; from provision of clinic facilities, Chronic Disease Drug Scheme, Aids Awareness Programmes, to protective clothing to guard against occupational hazards.

In order to pro-actively guard against work related hazards, regular health checks are carried out on employees, including testing for pneumoniosis (infection caused by dust).
